<p>&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Water polo is an excellent, if extremely challenging, sport for a child to pick up. It is certainly not a "first" sport, like soccer or basic swim lessons, but should be introduced at a time when the child has a firm grasp on swimming and is able to play sports competitively without becoming overwhelmed.
